The Sayre School Board Monday signed off on a nearly $22.8 million budget for the upcoming school year.

The 2025–26 plan includes a small property tax increase of just 1 percent.

Business Manager Barry Claypool previously reported that overall revenues and expenses both increased by around $260,000 compared to last year — with salaries and benefits making up nearly three-quarters of the budget. Health insurance premiums are also going up, by nearly 9 percent.

Despite that, the district has grown its fund balance from $1.5 million to $1.9 million and allocated federal COVID relief funds from the past three years for capital projects.

“I appreciate our administrative team and everyone who put this together,” school board President Ron Cole said after Monday’s vote. “It’s an excellent budget once again.”
