The oldest hospital in the region celebrated its 130th Birthday on Monday. Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre operates a health care system that serves more
than 200,000 people in 11 counties. The hospital had just 34 patients when the hospital first opened in 1885. The Packer family donated a mansion to give the town a place to care for rail workers. It has grown to offer care to everyone in the communities it serves. Guthrie operates a research institute, home care and hospice. They operate hospitals in Sayre, Corning and Troy.
