ROME TOWNSHIP — Pennsylvania State Police are searching for a Rome man who they have called armed and dangerous.
State Police responded to the area of Battlecreek Road in Rome Township on Wednesday afternoon at around 3:30 p.m. Through investigation police learned that 26-year-old Sebastian Shults made threats to numerous individuals, including an ex-girlfriend.
Shults then threatened to harm himself and barricaded himself in the upstairs of the residence. According to police, family members heard the sounds of a firearm being loaded.
The state police Special Emergency Response Team was called to the scene. Upon arrival, they discovered that Shults had already left the residence.
State police are now saying Shults should be considered armed and dangerous.
Pennsylvania State Police Towanda has issued an arrest warrant for Shults on terroristic threats charges. Police said the search of the residence revealed illegal activity and evidence was collected, which could result in additional charges.
