A Pennsylvania State Trooper was convicted of vehicular homicide in the death of a Troy Area School District teacher, who died in a 2023 crash.
Trooper Michael Brown was found guilty in Tioga County, Pennsylvania Court last week of felony homicide by vehicle.
On Feb. 11th, 2023, Brown was off duty and driving on Route 6 in Sullivan Township on his way to work at the state police barracks in Tioga County. He illegally passed another vehicle over double yellow line and struck a vehicle being operated by Troy teacher Christine Woodward.
Woodward was pronounced dead at the scene. She was 47 years old.
Brown is currently free on bail until his upcoming sentencing. He could face up to seven years in prison as well as a $15,000 fine and a three-year suspension of his driver’s license.
