The Towanda Borough Recreation Committee will hold their annual Downhill Pumpkin Rolling Festival next month.
The event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 5 in downtown Towanda.
The rolling will start at the intersection of Second Street and Maple Street next to the library. The owner of the first pumpkin to make it to the bottom in one piece wins. All four finalists will receive a monetary prize.
There is no age limit requirement. Heats will be separated into age groups. The finalist in each age group will compete in the final race for the grand prize.
The Recreation Committee will be providing the pumpkins at an entry fee of $3 per pumpkin.
There will also be food, ice cream, funnel cakes, vendors, kid’s games, face painting, a 50-50 raffle and more.
The festival will open at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5. For more information check out the Towanda Borough Recreation Facebook page.
