A Towanda man has been sentenced to three to 10 years in state prison after he assaulted another inmate at the Bradford County Jail last June.
According to police, 19-year-old Judah N. Porter was previously charged with burglary and criminal trespass after he broke into a smoke shop on two occasions in June and attempted to steal items from inside the business.
After he was apprehended and remanded to the Bradford County Jail, Porter assaulted another inmate in the recreational area of the jail. He approached the victim who was doing push-ups on the floor and kicked him in the side of the head, causing him to lose consciousness.
Police said Porter admitted that he kicked the victim.
Porter has been sentenced to 44 months to a maximum of 120 months for first degree felony aggravated assault, second degree burglary and criminal trespass.
