The Towanda School Board approved a proposed budget for the 2025-26 school year during a meeting on Monday.
The $33.9 million dollar budget includes a proposed 1 percent tax increase for residents in the district.
According to The Daily Review, the proposed spending plan has a projected deficit of around $1.4 million dollars.
The proposed budget is now on display at the Towanda Area School District Business Office, located at 410 State Street, and on the school district’s website.
The school board will vote on the final budget during its meeting at 7 pm on June 16th at the Towanda Elementary School.
