Towanda takes down NEB to win Scholarship Challenge

The Towanda Black Knights captured the Kwasnoski Cup with a 140-80 win over Northeast Bradford in the Scholarship Challenge finals at the Sayre Theatre on Saturday.

Northeast Bradford beat Sayre 120-100 to reach the finals, while the Towanda Black Knights earned a 170-60 win over Notre Dame to punch their ticket to the championship match.

This is the third time in four years and sixth time in school history that Towanda has brought home the coveted Kwasnoski Cup. The Black Knights previously won the title in 1984, 1988, 1991, 2022 and 2023.

With the win, Towanda brings home $2,000 in prize money. Second-place Northeast Bradford takes home $1,000 while third-place Sayre and fourth-place Notre Dame each won $500.
