The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has announced that the bridge that was damaged during a tractor trailer accident in Troy on Wednesday morning will likely be closed through August.

On Wednesday, June 12, a tractor trailer hauling an empty steel tank struck several members of the steel truss bridge, which runs over Sugar Creek. As a result, the bridge was closed and an in-depth inspection is currently underway, after which a repair plan will be developed.

Motorists are advised that Route 6 is closed in both directions between Leona Road and Mud Creek Road in Troy Township.

A detour using Leona Road, Springfield Road, and Route 14 is in place until further notice.
