Waverly man arrested after allegedly leading police on high-speed chase

A Waverly man is in the Bradford County Jail after police say he led them on a chase that reached speeds over 100 miles per hour on Sunday.

According to Athens Township Police, 37-year-old Cody J. Blake was arrested following a chase that stretched over two miles and ended at the intersection of Longway Street and Fourth Street when smoke started coming from the suspect’s car and he stopped suddenly.

Blake waived his Miranda Rights and signed a document giving officers permission to search his vehicle. That search resulted in police allegedly finding over 44 grams of methamphetamine.

Blake was charged with a felony count of manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance; felony fleeing or attempting to elude officer as well as several related misdemeanor charges.

He was remanded to Bradford County Jail on $100,000 bail.
