The Wyalusing Rams will take on Cowanesque Valley on Friday night in a high school football showdown, but before the game the Rams are looking to help their rivals off the field.
Cowanesque Valley was recently hit hard by severe flooding, with many homes suffering significant damage. In a true show of sportsmanship and community spirit, Wyalusing Athletic Director and head football Coach Rich Rogers has rallied the football team, cheer squad, and band to use their day off this Friday to travel to Westfield early in the morning and lend a hand with the clean-up efforts.
To further assist the community, Coach Rogers has set up a covered trailer outside the main entrance of the high school for collecting much-needed supplies.
If you’d like to donate, items in high demand include laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, queen-sized bedding, contractor bags, foam mattresses, mattress in a box, sheets, pillows and comforters.
No monetary donations will be accepted at this time.
Donations may be dropped off directly in the trailer located at the high school by no later than 4 p.m. today.
