A Hornell man convicted of murdering his estranged wife has been sentenced in Steuben County Court.
Daniel Bradford will now spend the next 23 years to life in prison for killing his wife, Jennifer. But with the sentences from the other charges, Bradford is likely to spend at least 29 years in prison. And they’ll be a lonely few years.
The court issued orders of protection against Bradford for his friend, Jason Loper, who testified at the trial and Bradford’s three children.
Daniel Bradford was convicted of murdering Jennifer just last month. He was also found guilty of five additional counts including criminal contempt. But Bradford claimed his wife died in an ATV accident, something that his lawyer had trouble supporting in court.
In court Thursday, Bradford also admitted to a 2003 conviction of falsifying business records. District Attorney John Tunney says this proves his role as a “classic, career criminal.”
And Tunney says the only thing left to do with someone like that is lock them up.
Daniel Bradford’s lawyer says Bradford still maintains his wife died in an ATV accident and an appeal was filed in court Thursday.
