(Binghamton, NY) – In Broome County Court, Peter A. Scott, 75 of Binghamton, entered a plea of guilty to felony Attempted Assault in the Second Degree.

Scott admitted that on June, 22, 2022, he stabbed a 58-year-old male in the arm with a knife, during a dispute at a Grand Avenue residence in Johnson City.

Scott has a lengthy criminal history, including a prior conviction for felony Attempted Robbery in 2019 in Broome County.

On his latest conviction, he will be sentenced to 1½-to-3 years in New York State prison on March 20, 2023.

“Mr. Scott has a history of violence and has not learned to control his behavior.  A State prison sentence is the only way to protect the citizens of our community,” said Michael A. Korchak, Broome County District Attorney.

The case was investigated by the Johnson City Police Department. Senior Assistant District Attorney Alex Czebiniak prosecuted the case for the Broome County District Attorney’s Office.
