Broome County Sheriff’s Office Correction Investigation Unit charged three inmates this week, who were already confined to the jail, with felony charges related to an assault at the jail.
While confined to the Broome County Sheriff’s Correctional Facility, inmate Gary Dean, a 47-year-old male from Binghamton, assaulted another inmate on Aug. 23 at the jail. Dean was charged Tuesday with Assault in the 2nd degree, a Class D felony. He was arraigned and remanded back to jail.
Ruderick Soler, a 47-year-old male from Binghamton, was charged Monday with Assault in the 2nd degree, a Class D felony, for an Aug. 23 assault against another inmate.
The Broome County Sheriff’s Office Correction Investigation Unit also arrested Leroy Peoples, a 37-year-old male from Binghamton, on Wednesday at the jail. While confined, Peoples assaulted another inmate. Peoples was charged with Assault in the 2nd degree, arraigned and returned to the Broome County jail.
