A change in Broome County Transit routes is estimated to save taxpayers about $470,000 annually. In addition to the savings, county residents can also expect increased access to popular areas throughout the county while using BC Transit:

-There will be extended service hours along the popular Shoppers Special route.

-Improved access to the Oakdale Mall and Wegmans.

-The addition of express routes between Binghamton University and the Oakdale Mall.

-A new route to the Dialysis Unit at Binghamton General Hospital

-And better connectivity to the western portion of the Rail Trail in Vestal for walkers and    bicyclists.

These route changes come after Broome County requested an analysis of BC Transit’s fixed route system. The new routes will take effect on February 29th.
