Broome Community College students raised money over the weekend for the son of a lost student.
BCC held a Spring Carnival on Sunday to benefit 5-year-old Donovan Lima, the son of Noel Pike, a former BCC student who was killed in a car accident. In January, Pike’s car collided with a tractor trailer on Interstate 88 in Afton.
Ticket sales, money raised from raffles, and other donations will go toward creating a college fund for Donovan. Coordinators of the event estimated that over 300 people were in attendance on Sunday. Raffles will continue to be available until Friday, April 26th.
