Binghamton, NY – Anthony Folk, owner of Chenango Point Cycles in Binghamton, has been recognized by Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (NY-22) as the 2022 Small Business Administration (SBA) Upstate New York Small Business Person of the Year.
Tenney presented the award at a ceremony held at Folk’s store. In her remarks, Tenney spoke about her own experience as a small business owner, the personal nature of her work on the House Small Business Committee, and congratulated Folk on his success and award as Small Business Person of the Year, all of which comes at a time when many small businesses are still reeling from the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Anthony—you truly are an inspiration to us all and a paradigm of what an entrepreneur should be in the year 2022. Thank you for all that you do for the community, and again, please accept my sincere congratulations on this significant achievement,” said Tenney.
Folk used an SBA Express Loan and counseling from the Binghamton Small Business Development Center to help grow his business. Chenango Point Cycles has served the Binghamton area for more than 20 years. Folk also sponsors “Trips for Kids” bike rides, serves as a local youth coach for the National Interscholastic Cycling Association, and sponsors the Binghamton Area Mountain Biking Initiative to support the development of new trail systems in the Binghamton region.
