The Binghamton City School District is on a two-hour delay this morning due to a specific threat of violence made against the district on social media.

The Binghamton Police Department notified school district officials on Saturday of the threat, which targeted all district buildings. According to police, it was made by a single individual.

As of Sunday, Binghamton Police were still investigating the threat.

Out of an abundance of caution, all Binghamton Schools including programs at East Learning Center, will be on a two-hour delay. Elementary schools will begin at 9:50 with Binghamton High School starting at 10 and middle schools at 10:25. There will be no morning pre-k. Breakfast will still be served.

There will be an increased police presence throughout the district today.
