Binghamton man charged with attempted murder following shooting

The Binghamton Police Department has announced the arrest of a Binghamton man following a shooting in the city on Sunday.

According to police, 22-year-old Shawn Lynch has been charged with felony counts of attempted murder in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.

Lynch allegedly shot a 20-year-old victim multiple times while inside a car at the intersection of Vestal Ave. and Telegraph Street at around 10:15 p.m. on Sunday.

Lynch was arraigned in Binghamton City Court and remanded to the Broome County Jail.
