A Binghamton man is facing multiple felony charges after attempting to hide methamphetamine in a Cheetos bag in a failed effort to thwart members of the Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force and the Broome County Sheriff’s Strategic Response Group.
On Monday, while conducting an investigation into narcotics activity in the Town of Union and the Village of Endicott, members of the SIU approached 29-year-old Ralph A. Carson for questioning. Upon making contact with the task force members, Carson made attempts obstruct and resist the investigators, but was successfully taken into custody.
During the arrest, Carson was found to be in possession of over 5 ounces of meth in multiple plastic bags, with one bag hidden in his pocket with the rest hidden in a bag of Cheetos.
Carson has been charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second and third degrees, along with obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest.
