Binghamton man facing felony gun charge

JOHNSON CITY — The Johnson City Police Department has announced the arrest of a 20-year-old Binghamton man on a felony gun charge.

On Tuesday, Jan. 10 at about 5:26 p.m., officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on West Street in Johnson City. Police observed the suspect, Jamie Bailey, exiting the vehicle and he then fled on foot.

Following a brief chase, officers arrested Bailey after a brief struggle. Police say the suspect was allegedly in possession of a loaded 9 mm ghost gun as well as an imitation handgun.

He has been charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, a Class C felony as well as criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration, all misdemeanors.

Bailey was remanded to the Broome County Jail following arraignment.
