The Broome County District Attorney’s Office has announced a Binghamton man in prison for murder has been denied parole for the sixth time.
James B. Wales is serving a 33-year to life sentence for the 1984 murder of 12-year-old Cheri Lindsey.
Lindsey was killed on March 26, 1984 while collecting money on her newspaper route. Wales murdered Lindsey inside his home on Sturges Street in Binghamton.
Wales will have another chance to apply for parole in two years.
