A man with several felony warrants was taken into custody after a police chase. Michell McComas of Harpursville, was arrested yesterday afternoon. Deputies saw a minivan that failed to stop at a stop sign near Ostiningo Park in the town of Dickinson. When deputies tried to stop the van, the driver fled, speeding down multiple streets on the north side of Binghamton. Deputies said McComas hit at least one other car during the pursuit. The suspect tried to drive down the railroad tracks at Route 7 and Old State Road. That’s when the van became stuck and he fled on foot. Binghamton Police officers were able to stop McComas on foot on Route 7. McComas had several felony warrants throughout the region. He was charged with the misdemeanors of reckless endangerment and unlawful fleeing from a police officer in a motor vehicle, reckless driving and 24 traffic citations. He was taken to the Broome County Jail.
