On Wednesday evening, an employee of Bothar Construction in the Town of Fenton alerted police to a scrap metal theft in progress.
Timothy Pruitt, 47, of Binghamton had loaded about 10 pounds of scrap metal into his pickup truck.
Pruitt was arrested by a Broome County Deputy Sheriff and released on appearance tickets for a future court date.
