Yesterday, the Binghamton Police responded to a report of an armed home invasion in progress on Oak Street in the City. Multiple patrols and a Broome County Sheriff’s sergeant converged on the address. The sergeant was first on the scene and initiated a foot chase of several suspects running through backyards.

Several suspects were located and detained by Binghamton Police Patrol Division personnel and Sergeant Cower on Markey Court and subsequently taken into police custody.  Further investigation determined the incident was a continuation of an ongoing dispute between members of the house and those making the armed entry.

Firearms were recovered during the preliminary investigation of the matter.  No shots were fired, and no injuries were sustained by suspects or responding law enforcement officers.

Arrested were 38-year-old Monte R. Jackson, 34-year-old Joseph R. Weibel, and 24-year-old Chelsey A. Kuzda, all from Binghamton. All were charged with felony Burglary. The criminal investigation of the incident is ongoing and being conducted by the Binghamton Police Detective Division.
