Binghamton and Broome County Offering Compost Bins for Sale

The City of Binghamton has joined Broome County in selling compost bins as a way to enable residents to practice more cost-effective, environmentally-friendly waste disposal.
Like the Broome County Landfill, the City Treasurer’s Office is now selling Earth Machine TM compost bins at-cost for $45 each.
Designed for easy, passive composting, the bins hold up to 80 gallons, include a kitchen carry container and come with a 10-year warranty.

According to the EPA, approximately 12.5% of solid waste is made up of food scraps that could be composted and reused.
