Binghamton City School District leaders have unveiled their budget plans for the next school year and it calls for dozens of cuts at the district.
School leaders anticipate they’ll have a 6.5 percent cut in state funding, totaling about $3 million.
To offset the reductions, they want to eliminate 47 positions, 20 of them through attrition.
About 24 teaching jobs would be included in those cuts.
The district is also proposing another $850,000 in cuts to district programming, substitutes, BOCES programs and equipment.
The final budget is due April 18th.
