The Red Cross is helping several Binghamton families who were forced out of their homes Saturday night because of a fire. It broke out around 6 p.m. at the Legacy Bay Townhomes Apartments.
Authorities say the third floor suffered the worst of the damage, but there was also damage to the rest of the building.
Six children and two adults are being assisted by the Red Cross. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
