Binghamton was one of 600 locations around the world to hold a March for Science on Saturday. The marches were planned for Earth Day. In Binghamton, more than 100 people gathered at Confluence Park – many with signs – and then marched to the MLK Promenade for a science and climate festival with games, music, and other activities. According to the March for Science website, the global grassroots movement was planned to defend the vital role science plays in our health, safety, economies, and governments. Other marches were held locally in Corning and Ithaca.
