Guests and staff at the Holiday Inn of Binghamton evacuated for an hour after a bomb threat. Approximately 100 people stood outside the Holiday Inn on Hawley Street as Binghamton police investigated. Seven Binghamton police cars arrived on scene, including a K-9 unit. Police searched every room and closet looking for anything suspicious, but nothing was found.
According to the general manager of the Holiday Inn, a call was received around 1 p.m. when a man threatened the building with an explosive. They say this is the first time a threat has been called into the hotel.
