Binghamton Man Arrested for Stabbing Mother and Infant

On Wednesday, March 27 about 2am, Binghamton responded to 10 Gaylord St. (2nd floor rear apartment), Binghamton, for a report of a stabbing incident. Investigation determined Colyn C. Williams (DOB 10/03/87 of 10 Gaylord St. (2nd floor rear apartment), Binghamton) was involved in a domestic dispute with the 22-year old mother of his child. During the dispute, the female was holding their 11-month old infant son. Williams armed himself and violently attacked the female and infant, while wielding a six-inch kitchen knife. Williams intentionally stabbed the woman and infant multiple times with the knife, causing serious but non-life threatening injuries to both.

 

Williams fled the scene prior to police arrival. The adult victim and her child were transported by EMS to an area hospital. The adult victim underwent surgery. She and the baby remain hospitalized Wednesday night for treatment of their wounds, both are expected to survive.

 

Williams was apprehended about 9:00 a.m. at another Eastside location where he was taken into custody by
Binghamton police detectives. Subsequent to his arrest, a search warrant was executed at that location for case evidence. Williams was charged by detectives with Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, a Class A1 Felony Offense and Assault in the First Degree a Class B Felony.

 

Williams was held for arraignment in Binghamton City Court on the above charges.
