A suspect in a drug raid on Saturday had to be taken to the hospital after he swallowed drugs when approached by investigators.
Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force executed a search warrant at 31 Baxter Street when they found Jerrell Thompson. Police say Thompson swallowed a chunky substance they suspected to be crack-cocaine, and he was taken to the hospital. He is being charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance as well as tampering with physical evidence, both felonies. He also was in violation of his parole. He was arraigned in the Binghamton City Court and taken to Broome County Jail.
