The Binghamton Police are investigating a shooting on Doubleday Street in the city. 29-year-old Darryl Sutton of Binghamton was shot in the face. He was sent to Wilson Hospital and then transferred to Syracuse. He is in serious condition, but expected to survive. The shooting occurred when the victim was walking alone and was approached by the suspect who was on foot. A brief verbal exchange occurred and then the victim was shot in the face. Both the victim and the gunman fled by foot from the area. The suspect is described as a possibly light complexion black male or Hispanic male. There may have been another person with the shooter at the time of the incident. The investigation is being handled by the Binghamton Police Detective Division.
