Binghamton Purchases New Street Sweepers

SHARE NOW

The City of Binghamton has announced the purchase of two new street sweepers. The city used funds, just under $389,000, from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, to buy the sweepers. Two of the city’s older sweepers were replaced after the machines were worn down following clean-up efforts after the 2011 flooding. Binghamton now has three street sweepers and a small sidewalk sweeper. One of those sweepers and the sidewalk sweeper will handle the downtown area while the other two will be used in the neighborhoods throughout the city.
