The City of Binghamton won’t have to wait for a vote to find out if it will be receiving money for a parking study, after Mayor Rich David announced Monday that the city had secured $50,000 from the Binghamton Metropolitan Transportation Study. The policy committee voted to spend the money on the study last week, and the city will match its contribution, bringing the cost of the study to $100,000. David has made a point since his election to try to tackle the ongoing problem of a lack of parking downtown. The city and the committee will be setting a time-frame for the project, and will also pick a consultant to oversee the study.
