The Binghamton community came together this weekend to remember those who lost their life to addiction. A candlelight vigil was held at the Tabernacle United Methodist Church Sunday. People who have lost a loved one to overdose were there, along with others who just wanted to show their support.Organizers say they want those struggling to know that they are here for them. The event was hosted by ‘The Addiction Center of Broome County.’
Also over the weekend, the 6th annual Binghamton Wingfest was held at NYSEG stadium on Saturday to help the Addiction Center of Broome County fight the opioid epidemic. Local restaurants competed for the people’s choice award. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Addiction Center of Broome County.
