For the second year, officers in the Binghamton Police Department will not be shaving in the month of November to support cancer awareness and to raise money for cancer research. This is part of the American Cancer Society’s Grow Nation Campaign. This year for the first time, officers in the BPD wore pink badges as part of the American Cancer Society’s Real Men Wear Pink Campaign during the month of October. To date, $1,781 has been raise by the department for the American Cancer Society this month. The police dept. has set a goal to raise $10,000 total during the 2 months.
