Broome County Library to Host Workshop on Living Healthy With Diabetes

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program and the Broome County Office for Aging are offering a six-week program entitled “Living Healthy with Diabetes,” designed to help participants gain confidence in their ability to manage diabetes and to maintain an active and fulfilling life.
This program will begin on Tuesday, March 15, 1:00pm at the Broome County Public Library, 185 Court Street, Binghamton.
The sessions will cover the following topics: techniques to deal with the symptoms of diabetes, exercise for improving strength and endurance, healthy eating, appropriate use of medication, and working more effectively with health care providers.
Participants will make weekly action plans, share experiences, and help each other solve problems they encounter in creating and carrying out their self-management program.
The workshop will meet each Tuesday, 1:00-3:30pm, March 15 through April 19.
A healthy snack will be served during the break.
Participants will receive a free workbook and relaxation CD.
