A two-day dragnet by the Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force has accumulated 16 arrests for heroin and other charges. According to task force members, the investigation comes after a string of burglaries and larcenies in the city of Binghamton, along with an upswing in heroin possession arrests and overdoses throughout Broome County.
With the arrests, 35 charges were filed, including 18 felonies. Nearly 100 wax envelope folds of heroin were seized along with $11,272. Many of the arrests have also led investigators to new information about other unsolved crimes.
