BU 3-0 in America East, Kimmel Sets Record

The Binghamton University men’s basketball team is off to a 3-0 start in the America East after an 83-75 win over the University of Maryland-Baltimore County at the Events Center Wednesday.
Binghamton High School alum Jimmy Gray led the Bearcats with 23 points.
In high school sports…Harpursville senior Hannah Kimmel became Section 4’s all-time scoring leader with a 36-point output in a win over Unadilla Valley.
Kimmel now has 2,217 points in her sixth season on the varsity, breaking the section record of 2,205 set by 2006 Candor graduate Megan Shay.
In other games…
Owego received 17 points from Brittany Rando as they won at Chenango Valley 44-31 and Vestal was nearly perfect from the foul line as they held on for a 51-45 win over Elmira Southside. The Golden Bears were 18-of-19 from the charity stripe in the win. Shannan Walker had 15 points, five assists and four steals for Vestal.
On the boys’ side, KJ Rose scored 35 points as Union-Endicott won 71-68 at Horseheads.
