The newly renovated Decker Student Health Services Center at Binghamton University is open and ready for student care, thanks to a $1.5 million dollar grant from the Decker Foundation.
Originally built in 1966, the Student Health Services Center served an enrollment population of 6,000 students, but with a growing community of 15,000 students today, BU’s Health Center was in need of an update.
The redesign added 10 treatment rooms to the existing 7, and the facility now has additional clinical space to support more health practitioners.
Part of the grant includes an electronic medical record that is being implemented now, and a student portal so students can connect to the health center through the internet and set up appointments.
The Health Center is available to all full-time BU students.
