A group looking to acquire the full casino license for the Southern Tier has identified two locations as possible sites for a new casino. The Vista Hospitality Group has announced that the former Stow manufacturing site off the Brandywine Highway and the Binghamton Plaza are two locations at which they would consider building a new casino. The group is a commercial real estate company which owns the Holiday Inn Arena in Binghamton and the Quality Inn & Suites in Vestal. They have plans to submit a bid for a $120 million casino with 1,500 slot machines and 50 table games. Their plan would be to call the facility “Binghamton Casino”. They have made offers to the City of Binghamton for the two locations, but would only be acquiring one of the spots if they were awarded the casino license by the state. The Brandywine Corridor consists of three different parcels of land totaling 19 acres, including the former Stow location, and the Binghamton Plaza is about a mile away, off of West State Street, and offers about 26 acres. Several stores already use the Binghamton Plaza area, including Kmart.
