The City of Binghamton is looking to continue in their efforts to ensure everyone in the city has a roof over their heads. Several members of the Southern Tier Homeless Coalition, as well as Mayor Rich David met in Binghamton to announce that their efforts are continuing. Rebecca Rathmell, a member of the Southern Tier Homeless Coalition, says that homeless individuals sometimes refuse to go to shelters because of negative past experiences, addictions, or mental illnesses.
Currently, the coalition is focusing efforts on building relationships with individuals who need homeless services.
