The first of five finalists to be the next Binghamton University president is on campus Thursday.
Gary Miller will meet privately with college officials before making a presentation during an open forum at 3pm at the Old Union Hall. The provost and vice president of academic affairs at Wichita State University has a background in biology.
Miller, a Virginia native, has been a finalist in several other presidential searches over the past few years, including at his alma mater – Mississippi State – in 2008. He has been at Wichita State since 2006.
The other four finalists in the BU presidential search will visit the campus over the next few weeks.
The search committee hopes to make their final recommendations by the end of the month and have a president in place by next summer.
