Gas Prices Hurting Non Profit Organizations

If the price of gas at the station nearest you hasn’t reached $4, it soon will. The averages for Binghamton and Syracuse are in the $3.90s. It’s a pain for the average driver, but even more so for organizations like Meals on Wheels.  Seven-hundred meals are prepared everyday, and the non-profit relies on volunteers who use their own cars to deliver food to those who can’t leave their homes.  A small stipend for gas is offered to volunteers who need it.  Mason Kaufman with Meals on Wheels says gas has impacted the price of food purchased for meals and they are making adjustments to the menu.
