A grease fire broke out in the kitchen of a home in Binghamton last night. Heavy smoke could be seen coming from the home at 659 Hawleyton Road. No one was injured in the blaze but the fire has left the family without a place to stay. Shortly after six o’clock last night crews responded and were able to contain the fire to the first floor and part of the home’s exterior, putting the fire out in about thirty minutes. The structure and stability of the house remains under investigation. Crews from the Town of Binghamton, Silverlake, Vestal, and Five Mile Point all responded.
