The former Greenman Senior Center in Binghamton remains on the market. The sale of the Pine Street facility failed to pass the City Council Wednesday. Opportunities for Broome, a local non-profit, offered to buy the property for $75,000 and convert it to a commercial kitchen training center. Six votes in favor of the sale were needed from the seven member board, but just four council members voted in favor. Council members say they will now entertain other offers for the building. Monday, W.H. Lane Incorporated voiced a last-minute interest in buying the property at a higher price.
