Firefighters were called to the scene of a house fire at 48 Leroy Street in Binghamton’s West Side at 8:45 p.m. last night. No injuries have been reported.
One woman was able to get out of the house when the fire started in the first floor living room and spread upward.
While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, firefighters say it appears to have started in the ceiling of the first floor living room and extended across the ceiling, into the wall going up to the second floor. Firefighters had the flames out in under five minutes.
