The Junior League of Binghamton’s Kids in the Kitchen initiative was begun in Binghamton in 2006 with the goal of engaging kids in the preparation of healthy meals as a means to educate them and their parents regarding nutrition and healthy choices.
Obesity has been described as a national epidemic, and education is seen to be one of the keys to this problem.
Kids in the Kitchen tries to make learning about being healthy into a fun event.
This year’s event will be on March 19th from 12 to 2 pm at the Boys and Girls Club of Western Broome.
Kids from local Cub Scouts and Brownie Scouts troops, the Children’s Shelter, and the Boys and Girls Club will participate in activities and cooking lessons—as well as food sampling!
Max from the B-Sens will join in the fun.
If you want information about this event, please call the Junior League office at (607) 205-9831 or follow us on Facebook.
