Lake Effect Snow Advisory in Effect

SHARE NOW

A lake effect snow advisory is in effect Monday for parts of our listening area, including Tioga, Tompkins and northern Broome counties.
The National Weather Service in Binghamton says between 3 and 6 inches of snow could fall in parts of the Southern Tier. Cold winds out of Canada are blowing across Lake Ontario and creating the lake-effect snow, which will fall in light to moderate showers. The weather service says the blowing snow could lead to slippery roads.
Several local school districts closed or delayed their start Monday due to the weather.
The lake effect snow advisory is in effect until 6pm. Stay tuned for the latest on the Southern Tier’s Emergency Information Station, News Radio, WEBO.
